Jesus told the people a thought provoking parable:

"The rich man sent his servants out to the city centre to find all the beggars with "Hungry and Homeless" notices in front of them.  They brought them back to have a bath and new clothes, and all the time the mouth-watering smell of the good food waiting for them... what a wonderful treat!"  ( Luke 14:15-24, Matthew 22:1-14)
