Let's start...

Instructions

Begin by gathering the children and reading the story of Abram's dream from Genesis 15: 1-6. The story of Abram's dream, as told in Genesis 15: 1-6, is a powerful story of faith and trust in God's promises. In this story, God promises Abram that he will have many descendants and that he will be blessed. This story can serve as a reminder for children in Sunday school that God has promised many blessings and good things for their lives.

After reading the story, explain to the children that they will be participating in a "Promises and Blessings" prayer activity.

Show the children the basket filled with slips of paper and invite them to come up, one by one, and draw a slip of paper from the basket.

After each child has drawn a slip of paper, lead the children in a prayer of thanksgiving and trust in God's goodness and faithfulness. Encourage the children to share what they drew from the basket and to offer their own prayers of thanksgiving for specific blessings in their lives.

After the prayer, ask the children to keep their slips of paper as a reminder of God's promises and blessings in their lives.

Encourage the children to share their blessings with others and to trust in God's goodness and faithfulness just like Abram did.

Conclusion

The "Promises and Blessings" prayer activity is a simple yet powerful way for children to reflect on God's goodness and faithfulness in their lives.

This activity can help children to develop a stronger sense of gratitude and trust in God's promises, and to remember that God has promised to bless them in many ways.

By sharing their blessings with others, children can also learn to be generous and compassionate, just like Abram who trusted in God's promises.
