Lesson - OT: Ruth - 1. Naomi and Ruth go back home
A complete Sunday school lesson with fourteen activities on the Bible story of Naomi and Ruth returning to Bethlehem
A lesson plan focusing on the Bible story in Ruth chapters 1 and 2, where we explore the journey of Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi. Naomi, bereft of her husband and sons, decides to return to Bethlehem from Moab. Ruth, her Moabite daughter-in-law, insists on accompanying her, displaying loyalty with her famous declaration, "Where you go, I will go."
In Bethlehem, to support Naomi and herself, Ruth gleans in the fields of Boaz, a relative of Naomi's late husband. Boaz notices Ruth's dedication and kindness, offering her protection and support.
Each activity has been designed to encourage children to reflect on the key themes of the Bible passage, and to engage with the story in a fun and interactive way.
