The children form a large circle. One child is given a ball of wool and starts with ‘I have..’ or ‘I am…’ and then goes on with ‘and… too’. For example ‘I have blonde hair and and Marco has too’. ‘I am 10 years old and Ilse is too’. The child then throws/rolls the ball of wool to the child she talked about. This child continues the game by saying something about herself and linking this to another child and throwing the ball of wool to that child. As the ball of wool unwinds, it makes a spider’s web between the children.

The children form a large circle. Someone then makes a statement – for example,  I like chips, I find reading fun, I get angry sometimes, I’m always cheerful, I like to cook. If the children relate to/ agree with a statement they need to move one place to the right. If it doesn’t apply to them, they stay sitting where they are. Some children will therefore end up sitting in each others laps, with more than one or two children on each chair.

Explain to the children that it is great that everyone is so different.
