Craft - Easter (09): The empty tomb - Decorate a cross
A crafts activity to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus
The cross is empty. The grave is empty. Jesus has risen. The children can show their joy about this to the others in the church by making and decorating wooden crosses and displaying them in the church or outside.
This idea is part of a complete Sunday school lesson on the Easter Bible story in Luke 24: 1 - 12.

Let's start...
Make and decorate a cross
Help each child to make a cross by nailing two planks together.
They can then decorate the crosses with paint, felt pens or all sorts of different decorations.
The aim is for the children to show how happy they are that Jesus is risen.
Once the crosses are finished, you can go outside and put the crosses in the grass or in the garden round the church, so that all the grown ups can see the crosses at the end of the service.
