Potiphar is head of Pharaoh's bodyguard in Egypt and in charge of Pharaoh's royal prison. He buys Joseph as a slave and in a short time appoints him as manager in his house. However, when Potiphar later has to choose between his wife's word and Joseph's, the trouble starts for Joseph.
