Eve is the first woman in the Bible. She was made from the rib of Adam and lived with Adam in Paradise. Within church history, she is especially notorious for being tempted to eat of the fruit and thereby tempting her husband Adam. This led to their banishment from paradise. Eve is not only the first woman, but also the first mother. She is the mother of Cain, Abel and Seth, among others. She also had several daughters, but their names are not mentioned in the Bible.
