Bible Story: ‘Jesus celebrates Passover’

I’m so happy to be able to celebrate this Passover meal with you one more time.

It’s a time of celebration in Israel. They are celebrating the Jewish Easter. All over the country families and friends have come together to eat. They eat the special Passover supper, with bread, wine, bitter herbs and the Passover lamb. Then they remember what happened a long time ago, when God freed Israel.

There’s a group of men walking along the road talking about the celebrations they are going to have. They are friends – in fact they are Jesus’ disciples.

“Where shall we prepare the Passover meal for tonight, Lord?” they ask Jesus.

“Two of you go to town,” says Jesus “and there you will meet a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him, until he goes inside a house, and tell the owner of the house that I have sent you, and ask where we can eat tonight. He will go upstairs with you and show you a room where everything is already. You can prepare the meal there.”
