Bible Story: ‘Jesus’ lesson of the widow’s mite’ - ease to tell

The widow's offering was worth a lot more to God than what the rich man gave.

‘Listen’, Jesus says, ‘The poor woman put much more in the temple treasury than the rich man.’
The disciples look at each other in confusion. Surely the woman had given next to nothing?
‘The rich man gave from what he did not need’ Jesus says.

‘He gave from the enormous amount he had, from his abundance. Even though he gave a lot, he still has lots left for himself. ’‘But that poor widow’, Jesus continues, ‘She gave everything she had.’
The disciples look at each other. Indeed, that woman gave everything. She has nothing left. She loves God so much that she wanted to give Him everything.

God notices those who give to Him with a pure heart.
