Bible story: ‘Jesus calls Peter to be a fisher of men’ - easy to tell

Follow me and I will make you a fishers of men...

"Who likes to go fishing?  I wonder if you're the sort of person who comes home and says “Wow, mum, I caught a really big fish that was thiiiis big ... and I put it back”?.  You know fishermen are always going on about how big the catch was - even if they're not quite truthful!

Jesus' friend, Simon Peter, made his living by it .. he was a fisherman by trade.  He had his own boat, and knew his job.  He had been out on the lake all night and he had caught ... how many do you think?   Not one!  Nothing at all!  I expect he was sitting on the shore mending his nets and muttering to himself “Huh, all night and no fish, not even a tiddler - it's not worth fishing these days, I dunno where all the fish have gone, might as well not bother .. all I get is tired and wet and cold and hungry .
