What message can you convey with a cheap tube of toothpaste and an empty plate?
You can use this to illustrate the power of words, the taming of the tongue and what to do with the wrong words that you may have spoken and now want to retract.

Easy to use as a preaching illustration, in Sunday school, during a children’s moment in church, in a school assembly or an RE lesson.
The ideas is based on James chapter 3 in which he writes about the taming of the tongue:
“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.” (James 3: 9 - 12)
