Experiment - Pencils through bag: ‘Paul and Silas freed from prison’

Introduction:
In this idea we will show you how you can use the experiment of the Indestructible Sandwich Bag to tell the Bible story of Paul and Silas being freed from prison in Philippi.

Paul and Silas had been beaten and taken captive after freeing a woman from a spirit of divination. In prison as they were praising God there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. They were free and the jailer and his household came to Christ that night.

You can use this experiment within a school assembly, an RE lesson, as a preaching illustration, a children's moment in church and of course in any setting of Biblical teaching.
