Use this secular YouTube video to hold a creative discussion with the children about the Bible story of the baptism of Jesus
A pig is sitting in a restaurant, eating lots of eggs. He is addicted to eating eggs! But then all of a sudden the love of his life walks into the restaurant and she happens to be a chicken. Pig realises that if he wants to carry on being friends with chicken, he can no longer eat eggs, but will have to eat corn.
This goes well for a while, but then the desire for eggs becomes too much for him! Everywhere he goes he sees eggs. In the middle of the night he climbs out of bed to order plates of eggs in the restaurant. But when he wants to take his first bite, he has to think of his chicken and his love for her.
In the morning we see a pig bringing the chicken a delicious plate of corn for breakfast in bed.
How does this film apply to today's Bible story?
In the Bible story Jesus calls the fishermen to follow him. Just like the pig, they have to leave something behind out of love for the other: their job, their security, taking care of their families. Everything of value to them, they leave behind to follow Jesus.
Leaving behind something you love is not always easy. That's what this video is about.
